ABOUT

Thiago Perdigão is a composer, conductor, multi-instrumentalist and writer. He holds a bachelor's degree in musical composition from UFPel, and a master's degree from the same university, with a dissertation focused on the philosophy of music, and a postgraduate degree in orchestral conducting.

As a composer, much of his work is focused on concert music, with works premiered in several Brazilian states (Minas Gerais, Pará, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul), ranging from music for chamber groups to orchestral pieces, some of which have even won awards in competitions, such as the works Cantos altaneiros (FEA Wind Orchestra competition, Minas Gerais), Aphorisms for piano trio (XXIX Panorama of Current Brazilian Music competition, Rio de Janeiro) and Baú de espantos, with which he was among the winners of the “VII Gramado in concert” orchestral composition competition.​

 

As musical director, he was the creator and conductor of the Pelotas Chamber Orchestra and is currently the principal conductor of the “Orquestra jovem do Sesc Rs”, where he has also served as general coordinator since its creation.

As a performer and pianist, he has premiered several of his compositions focused on concert music and jazz on stages in several Brazilian cities, both as a solo pianist and through the Thiago Perdigão trio project, where he is a multi-instrumentalist.​​​

As a writer, he has dozens of articles on literature, philosophy, and the history of art and music published in the newspaper Diário Popular, as well as academic articles in general. A prolific author, he has published 7 books: Heitor (novel), Diálogos Neurais (poetry), Édipo às avessas (satire), Dramas teatrais (plays), Antologia poética (poetry), Trilogia filosófica (philosophy), and Versos aves (poetry). In line with his literary and philosophical ideas, he also works as an intellectual and lecturer, being a frequent guest at both universities and private institutions, such as the Sigmund Freud Scientific Society.

In 2024, he released, on all music platforms, the album “Personagens de si”, with 12 original compositions, in which more than 30 musicians from different Brazilian regions and countries perform, and in which he acted as composer, multi-instrumentalist and conductor.
